Polk County honors Kayla Silverman with Star Recognition Award

Todd Whitaker (introduced by the chair) told the board that Silverman had "gone above and beyond to handle the influx of permitting load after loss of staff in 2025" and had taken on training responsibilities for new engineering staff. The packet and remarks noted she also met new obligations on stormwater permitting.
The chair and other board members thanked Silverman and invited her to return to the office after receiving recognition; Silverman thanked the board.
The recognition is ceremonial and no formal board action was required or recorded.
