Board approves ambulance funding shift and awards pavement-marking contract

The Madison Board of Selectmen voted Tuesday to approve two administrative items affecting municipal services and road maintenance.
The board approved a request from the Madison Ambulance Association to move $350,000 in capital-improvement-plan funding from fiscal year 2027–28 into fiscal year 2026–27 to accommodate lengthening vehicle lead times and place an earlier order. The association said the adjustment preserves the originally scheduled service date while ensuring they can get into the manufacturer’s queue.
The board also voted to award a $31,313 contract to Safety Marking LLC for town road pavement markings and line striping and authorized the First Selectwoman to sign related contract documents. The contract will be funded from the Public Works construction services account and uses a state contract price schedule.
Both motions were moved, seconded and approved by voice vote; board members indicated support during the meeting.
