El Monte council approves $1.3 million contract for electric vehicle charging stations

The contract amount is $1,133,000 with a 15% contingency of $169,950.
The council also approved budget adjustments to fund the project, including $346,205 from Proposition C Local Return funds, $50,000 from Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority funds and $157,090 from miscellaneous grant funds. The action authorized the City Manager to execute the contract in a form approved by the City Attorney. The motion was moved by Councilmember Martin Herrera and seconded by Councilmember Cindy Galvan; the vote was recorded as 6–0 (Mayor Jessica Ancona absent).
