The El Monte City Council on May 13 approved a contract services agreement with InCharge Energy, Inc. to design, supply and install electric vehicle charging stations for the city’s Clean Mobility Nexus Project (CIP No. 591) for a not-to-exceed amount of $1,302,950. The contract amount is $1,133,000 with a 15% contingency of $169,950.
The council also approved budget adjustments to fund the project, including $346,205 from Proposition C Local Return funds, $50,000 from Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority funds and $157,090 from miscellaneous grant funds. The action authorized the City Manager to execute the contract in a form approved by the City Attorney. The motion was moved by Councilmember Martin Herrera and seconded by Councilmember Cindy Galvan; the vote was recorded as 6–0 (Mayor Jessica Ancona absent).
