At the Bradenton Community Redevelopment Agency meeting on June 10, public commenter Cecilia Hag introduced "Gather 242," a proposed community food hall to be located on 13th Street in downtown Bradenton.
Hag described the project as a seven‑vendor food hall featuring all private chefs (no franchises), two private dining rooms and rentable event space. She said the team intends to preserve historic elements of the building — including original Dade‑pine floors, exposed wood beams and interior plaster brick — and to incorporate an immovable on‑site safe into the décor. The proposal also includes a rooftop garden and public outdoor areas intended for families.
Hag estimated the project would create roughly 45–50 local jobs across chefs, support staff and operations, and said the development would enhance tax revenue and contribute to downtown revitalization. When a board member asked whether the team had considered a different building, Hag said the project had previously been sited at the Dy Harrison building before relocating to the 13th Street address.
Hag concluded her preview during the allotted citizen comment period; she did not request any approvals from the CRA at the meeting and staff did not present a formal application during the session.
