The Winslow Township School District Board of Education carried a series of routine motions at its June 10 meeting, approving prior meeting minutes, the superintendent’s recommendations, business-administration reports, auditor and architect selections and personnel recommendations. The board set a face-to-face special meeting to complete the superintendent’s annual evaluation before the June 30 deadline and moved to an executive session to consider a pending HIB appeal and personnel hearings.
Board members voted to approve the May 27, 2026 meeting minutes, with an abstention recorded from Mr. Clark; the motion carried. The board then approved the superintendent’s recommendations and multiple business-administration items by roll call. A motion to reject all engineering requests for proposals was approved to allow staff to solicit additional proposals. The personnel report and several other superintendent recommendations carried, with at least one abstention by Mr. Matthews on a personnel item.
The vice president reported that the interim superintendent completed his self-evaluation on May 22, 2026, and the board agreed to convene a summary conference; members discussed holding a special meeting on June 17 at 5:00 p.m. to complete the evaluation before final approval at the June 24 regular meeting. The vice president said the finalized evaluation must be submitted by June 30.
Before adjourning to closed session, the board announced community-engagement items — including the district’s Juneteenth table on June 13 and participation in a township fire-department open house — and confirmed the district’s plan to move to a digital graduation program for the June ceremonies.
What passed: the minutes of May 27; superintendent recommendations encompassing administrative and personnel actions; business-administration and board-secretary reports; auditor selection; architect approvals; school-physician appointments; and the addendum items noted in the superintendent’s packet. The board also approved rejecting current engineer RFP responses to seek additional proposals.
Next steps: The board will convene the special evaluation meeting (proposed June 17) and is expected to finalize the superintendent evaluation at the June 24 meeting. The executive session will address a pending HIB appeal and two employment/termination matters.
