The Village of Forest Park voted to propose the Franklin Street–Brown Avenue tax increment financing (TIF) redevelopment plan and project area and to convene a joint review board and public hearing. The resolution (R53‑26) was moved, seconded and adopted by roll call with all present members recorded affirmative.
During the meeting there was no extended discussion of specific development proposals; speakers in public comment had urged townhouse‑style development and raised concerns about industrial water use at Farmington Foods, which the council did not address in detail during this session. The TIF designation begins the process that will involve a public hearing and review board deliberations before any developer incentives or project agreements are finalized.
