Council discusses restarting sidewalk program; sensor-equipped bike to survey sidewalks June 15

Councilmembers expressed interest in increasing budget commitment to add sidewalks in currently unserved areas and discussed staging: because some street reconstruction (E Avenue, 11th Street) is planned, sidewalks could be installed as part of those projects. Staff cautioned that whether work can start this year depends on how quickly the survey, bid process and budget allocation are completed.
