At the start of the May 28 meeting the Lake Forest Board of Education recognized student and staff achievements across several programs.
Dr. Lucas introduced Mr. Butler of WT Chipman to acknowledge FFA students who placed at the state convention; participants and team members were named, including individual placings and teams advancing to higher competition.
Stephen West, identified as a teacher at Fitman and coordinator of the comprehensive induction program, recognized 10 employees who completed the induction sequence and are eligible to apply for continuing licensure; he thanked building coaches and district leaders for their support.
Dr. Cooper recognized a voluntary 10‑week aspiring leaders cohort of roughly 15 participants from across district schools, naming teachers, deans and coordinators who completed the program and noting session topics such as coaching, evaluation and school finance.
The board offered congratulations and moved on to the regular agenda.
