Lake Forest board approves negotiated agreement with teachers' union, effective July 1

The Lake Forest Board of Education voted unanimously on May 28 to approve a negotiated agreement with the Lake Forest Education Association (LFA) that takes effect July 1, 2026.

District officials had earlier told trustees that components of the new agreement contribute to an estimated more‑than‑$500,000 increase in recurring salary costs projected for FY27.
Mr. Davis, speaking during reports and as a representative connected with LFA matters, thanked trustees and district negotiators for the collaborative process. The board recorded the approval with a voice vote and stated the effective date included in the motion was July 1, 2026.
The board did not detail contract line items on the public record at the May 28 meeting; district staff noted the agreement’s costs were included in the FY27 tax‑rate discussion presented the same evening.
