The Lake Board of Education on June 11 approved several personnel items, including creation of a new district 12-month position and a contract for an early childhood administrator.
Board members voted 5-0 to create a ‘‘desetting program administrator’’ position, a 12-month districtwide post to begin on the date designated for employees and continue through a July-to-June contract cycle, contingent on the availability of funds. The motion was moved, seconded and approved after a roll-call vote.
Separately, the board approved a contract for Randy M. Short to serve as administrator of the Delaware Early Childhood Center for the term July 1, 2026–June 30, 2027. The board noted a customary off-season footnote that final approval depends on guaranteed fund availability; the contract motion passed 5-0.
Other personnel matters were presented in the personnel report and approved by the board. The board’s actions included an itemized personnel resolution and the creation of the new administrative role; the district did not provide additional detail on job description or funding sources at the meeting.
Next steps: Implementation will depend on budget availability and staff onboarding processes.
