Boone County authorizes $500,000 transfer to road fund, approves security camera and supply contracts

The Boone County Board of Commissioners on May 27 approved a series of routine financial and procurement actions, including authorizing the County Treasurer to transfer $500,000 from the General Fund (0100) to the Road Fund (0200) via the vendor claims process (Transfer #7).
The board reviewed and approved payroll claims for the pay period April 22–May 21, 2026 covering multiple funds. Commissioners also accepted a One Office Solution quote for 30 cases of copy paper at $38.50 per case and approved ordering the thirty cases as a single order.
Applied Connective Technologies submitted two quotes to replace courthouse and sheriff office cameras. The board approved the higher quote to replace all 19 cameras (15 indoor, 4 outdoor) for approximately $14,266.50 and authorized County Clerk Kate Noble to sign the quote.
No bids were received for the advertised surplus item (a 2020 Ford F-450 Demers ambulance); the board voted to table further action on surplus property until the June 8, 2026 meeting to allow additional research into disposal options. The board also tabled discussion of proposed employee wage increases for the 2026–2027 fiscal year until the June 8 meeting.
An executive session was convened under the Open Meetings Act §84‑1410 to discuss matters relating to the prevention of needless injury to an individual; the executive session ran from 11:32 a.m. to 11:58 a.m. The meeting was later adjourned at 12:25 p.m.
