Dodge County approves zoning permit, schedules extra equalization hearings and OKs assessor contracts

At its June 10 session the Dodge County Board of Supervisors approved a Conditional Use Permit for Joyce Glodowski to allow a lot split of between 10 and 20 acres under A‑1 Intensive Agriculture zoning, following a unanimous recommendation from the Planning Commission and no testimony in opposition.
Immediately afterward the Board convened as the Board of Equalization, received eight 2026 property valuation protests and unanimously approved advertising two additional July dates (July 15 and 24 at 9:00 a.m.) should the Board need to act on protests. The Board also authorized the County Clerk to mail valuation change notices requested by County Assessor Marshall.
The Board unanimously designated the State Print Shop to produce postcards for LB644 (the "Property Tax Request Act") joint public hearing and approved a five‑year service contract with Vanguard Computer Systems for the Assessor website. Assessor Marshall noted she would ask Vanguard to prepare a three‑year option if the Board wanted to consider it; she also said the only other provider for comparable services is MIPS.
The Board received a 2026 Report of Destroyed Real Property from Daniel D. & Maria I. Vrana, adopted the Assessor's revised valuation recommendation and authorized the County Clerk to mail the updated valuation notice to the owners.
Next steps: the Board will hold additional equalization meeting dates if necessary and the Assessor will finalize contract details with Vanguard or provide alternate term options on request.
