During the June 10 meeting the Rialto Unified School District board approved the consent calendar, including a recommendation to reject several bids for bid 25-26-2 and to award the synthetic turf replacement contract to Asphalt Fabric and Engineering Incorporated.
Staff explained that multiple bidders failed to meet bid requirements; staff recommended rejecting the noncompliant bidders (Sky Services Limited; Spring for LLC; Gelas Construction Inc.) and awarding the contract to Asphalt Fabric and Engineering Incorporated for a total amount not to exceed $2,207,883.70, including a contingency allotment for unforeseen conditions to be paid from general fund maintenance accounts. "otorgan el contrato a la empresa Asphalt Fabric and Engineering Incorporated para un costo total de que no exceda 2,207,883 con70," staff said during the consent-item summary.
The board approved the consent calendar by roll call. Recorded votes included a unanimous yes from the trustees present: Doctora Luez (yes), La señorita Domínguez (yes), Carl Williams (yes), Vicepresidente Montes (yes), and President Martínez (yes).
The board also approved other routine consent items (human-resources reports, interims and stipulations referenced on the agenda) under a single motion.
Outcome: Contract award and the consent calendar were approved; procurement and contracting will proceed under the conditions described in the staff report.
