The revisions change evaluation scoring to hundredths (for example, 1.00—.00), clarify that ratings labeled "highly effective" or "exemplary" are treated as highly effective for the evaluation program, and exclude student growth/test-score measures for any student who accrues 10 or more absences in a semester (credit recovery or attendance credit will not nullify that exclusion). The board moved and seconded the revisions; the motion was recorded as passed with the clerk announcing "Motion passes 110."
The board also acknowledged the retirement of longtime coach William "Butch" Stockton and congratulated him for decades of service. Members praised his mentorship and leadership of student-athletes.
Appointments approved or announced included Melissa Moan as assistant principal at Shelmet High School and Kayla Seren as the middle school ELA and social studies instructional facilitator; administrators noted both candidates' lengthy service in the district and experience in teacher coaching and literacy work.
The board concluded the personnel items with votes recorded in the meeting minutes and moved on to other agenda items.
