The Somers Planning Board on June 10 delayed action on a site plan for an approximately 18,500 square‑foot addition to Building C at Rock Ledge Center (247 Route 100) after the Bureau of Fire Prevention requested a review of interior access, egress and fire‑suppression water storage. Staff said the bureau asked the applicant to meet with them on June 17 and that the building department only recently received the applicant’s response letter.
Planning staff indicated many of the outstanding comments concern interior building code compliance rather than site‑plan issues; the board agreed to table the resolution and revisit the application in July after the fire‑prevention meeting. Project engineers and the applicant were on the record as working to address the bureau’s comments.
No vote on final approval occurred; staff said they expect the item to be straightforward once the bureau’s issues are resolved.
