Superintendent announces retirements, summer camp, calendar shifts and student programming

Superintendent Mr Grandy told the Clark Township Board of Education the district accepted the retirements of three long‑serving employees: a high‑school mathematics teacher with about 23 years of service, an elementary teacher with about 36 years, and a middle‑school secretary with about 32 years. "All three of them will be missed and we're looking forward to hearing about their next life steps," he said.
Mr Grandy previewed district programs and calendar changes: Clark Connects social studies camp is scheduled for July 28 through Aug. 1 for students entering grades 4–7; preschool and kindergarten registration is underway online through Genesis; the district opened a full‑day preschool program; and Princeton Review SAT prep classes are under way with additional sections planned for March and May testing. He said the district moved a staff professional‑development day from June 3 to June 10 and shifted a snow make-up day from June 2 to June 9 to align with a statewide change to the primary election date.
As required, Mr Grandy reported incident counts for the reporting period Sept. 1–Dec. 31. He stated 34 cases were reported districtwide during that period and provided a school-by-school listing in his remarks. He also recognized National School Counselor Week and thanked the counseling staff for their work.
The report included operational notices (registration links on the district website and points of contact for residency questions) and no formal board action beyond accepting the items for the record.
