Board approves multiple event fee waivers and accepts financials; several routine motions pass

The board approved a series of routine motions granting community groups use of the commons and waiving rental fees for several events.

A motion to approve the garden-club fundraiser and a garden expo on Feb. 27 (half day) and Feb. 28 (full day) passed after discussion of facility availability and logistics; Linda, representing the garden club, thanked the board after the vote. The motion carried with board members present voting in the affirmative.

The board then approved a car-club request to reserve the pavilion, community building and park for a car show on Sept. 18–20 and waived the usual rental fees for those dates. "Make a motion to waive fees for September 18th, 19th, and 20th," a board member said; the motion was seconded and approved.

The board also approved a standard partnership waiver for United Way's Day of Caring, allowing the group to use the community building for setup May 11–12 and run luncheons and breakfasts as part of the event. Staff described that as a standard arrangement consistent with past partnerships.

The board approved previous meeting minutes and the presented financial report and claims. Discussion of the financials included one clarification about a November lawn-treatment billing line and routine equipment-replacement practices for mowers. The board carried motions to approve the minutes and the financial statements and will forward claims on to the council as required. The meeting concluded after elections/appointments (including retaining Kip as acting secretary) and routine announcements.
