The Mendota Planning Commission completed its annual reorganization at the Feb. 19 special meeting, appointing Commissioner Albert Escobedo as chair and Commissioner Alex Garcia as vice chair.
Commissioner Alicia Escobedo nominated Albert Escobedo for chair; the nomination was seconded and approved by roll-call vote. Chair Escobedo then nominated Alex Garcia for vice-chair; the nomination was seconded and approved. A nomination of Alternate Commissioner Jessica Sanchez for vice-chair was ruled out by the City Clerk because alternates are not eligible for that office.
The appointments were recorded by roll-call votes with Commissioner Veronica Gill absent. The commission also ceremonially swore in Commissioners Alicia Escobedo, Moses Macias and Jessica Sanchez earlier in the meeting.
