Dr. Crystal Andrews, the district’s LCAP coordinator, told the board that the district’s graduation rate rose from an 82% baseline to 88.9% for the 2024–25 school year, chronic absenteeism declined from 38% to 32%, and suspension rates decreased from 6% to 4.3%. Andrews connected those results to district LCAP actions such as increased family resource‑center staffing, parent liaisons, and targeted interventions in sites identified for additional support.
The presentation also covered the equity multiplier process required by the state. Andrews said the state assigns equity multiplier sites and noted that Washington Elementary was selected for equity multiplier funding for 2026–27; Madison, Van Beuren and STAG were not selected. District staff said the equity multiplier awards are one‑year allocations that may be carried over by site plans and that each site must produce a plan and community engagement process.
Andrews described outreach and new steps to increase participation in LCAP engagement, including posting plans on school websites and holding site council updates. The public hearing on the annual update was opened and closed at the meeting; the district planned to present the LCAP for board adoption at the June 23 meeting and submit the adopted plan to the county by June 26.
Trustees and staff discussed monitoring and fidelity of LCAP actions, county requirements and the district’s timeline for LCAP adoption.
No vote to adopt the plan occurred at the public hearing; the hearing fulfilled the requirement to receive public input before the June adoption vote.
