Salem Township tables trash and recycling bid advertisement for solicitor review

Salem Township’s Board of Supervisors on April 28 tabled action on the proposed trash and recycling bid advertisement to allow the Solicitor to review the bid documents, which the Board said would become a contract upon acceptance.
The motion to table the advertisement was made by Road Master John Fogg Jr. and seconded by Vice-Chairman Steven Fraind. The minutes state the Board opted to delay action to ensure legal review of the bid documents before the township solicits proposals.
Resident Danielle Kishbaugh later expressed concern during public comment that the Board had not acted on the trash/recycling advertisement. Chairman Richard Talanca responded that the item is a contract and requires Solicitor review prior to acceptance.
The minutes do not include the text of the bid documents, anticipated contract term, expected start date for service or any timetable for Solicitor review. The Board recorded a decision to table the advertisement rather than moving forward at the work session.
