The Santa Rita Union Elementary School District Board of Trustees on June 10 recognized seven district employees for long service and adopted resolutions of appreciation for each retiree.
Trustee Neil Patel read the resolutions and presented signed copies to honorees and family members. The board said the retirees collectively provided about 134 years of service to the district. The employees honored included Laura de la Cruz (lead food‑service assistant, 25 years), Norma Boso (school secretary, 32 years), Christopher Dibble (classroom teacher, 4 years), Landa Peak (elementary teacher, approximately 27 years), Peter Fleming (special‑education teacher, 12 years), Carmen Landuri (food‑service lead, 27 years) and Victor Sandaval (director of maintenance, operations and transportation, 7 years). Family members accepted one resolution on behalf of an absent retiree.
Each resolution restated service dates and thanked the employee for dedication, professionalism and contributions to students. Several retirees spoke briefly, saying they would miss working with children and colleagues. Board members offered thanks, recollections and a group photo following the presentations.
The recognitions were moved and seconded and approved as part of the consent agenda amendments; trustees recorded support for the motions in open session. No other personnel action accompanied the resolutions.
The board will take up routine business at its next regular meeting on June 24, 2026.
