Walworth County Board approves ordinances, budget and personnel items; two roll-call votes recorded

No. 14-05/26 (confirming Kimberly Rossi as Medical Examiner) on voice votes as recommended by the Executive Committee.
From the Finance Committee, Ord. No. 1401-05/26 and Ord. No. 1402-05/26 (amending cash/receivables and purchasing definitions/thresholds) and Res. No. 09-05/26 (declaring a 2010 Mack tandem truck surplus) were approved by voice vote. The board approved Res. No. 10-05/26 (creating a 2026 capital improvement project to purchase one loader and replace two loaders) by roll call (total votes: 11; ayes: 10 — Holt, Ingersoll, Karbowski, Laufenberg, Monroe, Reiff, Schaefer, Schneider, Stacey and Wojcik; noes: 0; absent: 1 — Pruessing). Res. No. 12-05/26 (closing fiscal year 2025) was approved on the same roll-call tally; Res. No. 13-05/26 (committing fund balances as of Dec. 31, 2025) passed by voice vote.
Appointments were confirmed by voice vote: Robert Merry as County Surveyor (term through Dec. 31, 2026); Mark Gajewski to the Veterans Services Commission (term through Dec. 31, 2029); and Lowell Wright and Sandra Berndt to the Aging and Disabilities Resource Center Governing Board (terms through June 30, 2029).
Several Public Works and zoning ordinances were also approved, including Ord. No. 1399-05/26 (specific speed limits) and Ord. No. 1400-05/26 (parking on county highway right-of-way), and three zoning amendments recommended by the County Zoning Agency were approved by voice vote.
