The Aurora City Council voted to adopt a new community partnership funding policy (Resolution 2026‑2083) at its June 9 meeting after staff presented a revised framework and fielded council questions about timing and reporting.
A staff member told the council the policy removes a prior 90‑day post‑project reporting requirement and instead asks for documentation by the end of the city's fiscal year. The staff member said the program is not a reimbursement model and that awards would be paid up front; withholding of funds, the staff member said, would apply only in future years if an organization failed to comply with the policy or prior conditions.
Council members asked about application timing and added that, following approval, staff planned to open the application period and set an application deadline in mid‑July so awards could be returned to council for consideration. Councilwoman Pettit had previously suggested changing the 90‑day reporting language; staff said the change had been made.
A motion to approve the resolution carried. Council directed staff to return with application timelines and to bring award recommendations back to a future council meeting for consideration.
