Westminster Public Schools board adopts 2026–27 budget, approves contracts and enrollment expenditure

Separately, the board approved a request to allow Westminster Public Schools to exceed the $150,000 expenditure threshold in board policy DJA for the district’s concurrent enrollment partnership with Front Range Community College. Dr. Ryan McCoy, presenting the item, said district contributions for fiscal years 2025 and 2026 have included roughly $60,000 toward a shared instructor salary and that program growth and planned course offerings are expected to push total district expenditures above the $150,000 policy threshold. The board approved the recommendation on a roll‑call vote.
The board also approved the district’s list of projects and vendor contracts over $150,000 required by policies DJ, DJA and DJR. During that vote one board member stated they would recuse themselves from voting on the item; the record indicates that the recusal was logged during the vote call and the remaining members approved the item.
On elections, the board adopted a resolution to preserve the district’s option to participate in the Nov. 2026 general election and appointed Veronica Gleeton as the district’s designated election official to notify the Adams County Clerk if the board later decides to place questions or seats on the ballot. The motion to appoint Gleeton and to notify the county passed by roll call.
What’s next: The board canceled the June 23, 2026 business meeting, saying current business for the school year had been completed, and set the next regular meeting for Aug. 12, 2026 at 5:00 p.m.
