Mr. Titterington told the committee the project is budgeted in 2026 in fund 441. He said ODOT provided an updated pre‑bid share at 20 percent; ODOT could require up to 30 percent in other circumstances, but the current estimate of the city's share is approximately $189,388.80. The presenter said the total project cost is a bit over $1,060,000 and that ODOT will design, bid and manage the project.
Committee members asked about timing and how the repaving would fit with any future intersection work at Experiment Farm and Main Street (possible roundabout, signal, widening or utility work). Titterington said the overlay work will likely require some removal where deeper intersection or utility work occurs but that ODOT's design will try to minimize duplicated effort.
Mrs. Westfall moved to recommend the emergency designation and Mr. Wooden signaled support; the chair announced a unanimous recommendation to move the ODOT consent legislation with emergency language to council. The recommendation is to proceed with the ODOT‑managed project and for council to consider the emergency legislation and appropriation as required to cover the city's share.
Next steps are to forward the recommended emergency consent resolution and funding authorization to council; the committee did not vote on final appropriations at this meeting.
