Bolton town meeting authorizes borrowing, approves school project spending from prior bond

Bolton, Conn. — Bolton electors gathered at Bolton Town Hall on May 16, 2023, and approved a set of routine municipal actions, including budget borrowing authority for fiscal year 2023–24 and use of remaining funds from a 2017 borrowing allocation for school projects.
The meeting opened at 7:00 p.m. with Moderator Thomas Fiorentino calling the meeting to order and reading the call and return of notice. First Selectman Pamela Z. Sawyer and Selectmen Robert Morra and Adam Teller were noted as present.

Item 3 accepted the Board of Selectmen’s five‑year capital improvement plans as presented in the annual budget document. First Selectman Sawyer moved the item, seconded by Robert Morra; there was no discussion and the motion was recorded as carried.
Item 4 authorized use of the remaining funds from the 2017 borrowing allocation for Board of Education projects at Bolton Center School — specifically for replacement of the fireproof stage curtain, cafeteria kitchen stove, energy management system and lockers — to the extent that remaining funds continue to be available for those purposes through July 1, 2024. The motion (moved by Scott Rich, seconded by Andrew Broneill) drew no discussion and was recorded as carried.
