Archbold council approves CRA expansion, pavement preservation contract and $512,935.42 in bills

The Archbold Village Council on June 1, 2026 unanimously passed two emergency resolutions and approved bills and payroll totaling $512,935.42.

Council first considered Resolution 2026-22, which would amend Resolution 2022-14 to expand the geographic boundaries of the Archbold community-wide Community Reinvestment Area (CRA) to incorporate territory added by ordinances passed in 2022, 2024 and 2025. After a brief explanation by Village Administrator Aaron Alt, Councilman Mike Evans moved to suspend the rule requiring three separate readings for general resolutions; the motion passed on a roll call vote. Aaron Babcock then moved to pass Resolution 2026-22; the resolution passed on a roll call vote with no opposition.

Council then considered Resolution 2026-23, authorizing acceptance of a proposal from Pavement Technology, Inc. for Reclamite® pavement preservation services through the Ohio Department of Transportation cooperative purchasing program. Following a short discussion, Councilman Kevin Eicher moved to suspend the three-reading rule; the motion passed and Councilman Mike Evans moved to adopt Resolution 2026-23, which also passed unanimously on roll call.

Earlier in the meeting, Council approved the minutes of May 18, 2026 and approved bills and payroll in the amount of $512,935.42. Mayor Brad Grime also presented a proclamation honoring Rita McQuillen, owner of Samuel Mancinos, for 25 years of service to the community.

All votes recorded for the resolutions and financial approvals were unanimous where tallies were provided; no member voted against either resolution. The meeting adjourned after a motion by Kevin Eicher and a second by Aaron Babcock.
