Board approves large personnel slate, honors tenure recipients and retirees

The Saugerties Central School District Board approved a bundled personnel slate that included resignations (items A–V), leaves (A–L), appointments (A–Q) and tenure awards during its final meeting of the school year.
"Every appointment represents a commitment to our students, our families, and our community," said Mr. Wilder as the board called appointees forward for recognition. The board moved to accept items I‑1 through I‑4 on the grouped personnel agenda (motion by Dr. Hos; second by Mr. Wells); the motion was adopted without recorded roll-call tallies.
Board members acknowledged tenure recipients and retirees in a public presentation. Tenure recipients named during the meeting included Jacqueline Greco (secondary math teacher), Lee Melikovski (secondary science), and Eric Warren (elementary special-education teacher). The board recognized a long list of retirees and noted years of service for each; examples cited during the ceremony included Katherine Averil (23 years) and Faith Dixon (30 years). Nanette Weeks, district treasurer, was also recognized for 25 years in the business office.
Board members used the moment to thank outgoing student representative Adriana Argua for her service. "You really expanded the role by reporting out not just on high school, but for the first time, on the entire district," said the board president in recognition remarks.
The motions to approve the grouped personnel items and the appointment list were presented and seconded from the dais and were approved in voice votes. No additional conditions or amendments were recorded in the meeting minutes.
The board will complete the personnel recordkeeping and onboarding steps over the summer; newly appointed teachers and staff were welcomed to the district at the meeting and were invited onstage for formal photographs.
