Randolph announces schedule of 250th‑anniversary events including tree dedication and Freedom Festival

Deputy Mayor Lou Nisivoccia and Councilwoman Chris Carey opened a town announcement laying out Randolph’s schedule of events for the nation’s 250th anniversary, officials said.
A town staff member said the Randolph Township Environmental and Landmark Committee will dedicate an "Independence Tree," a commemorative oak, at the entrance to Veterans Community Park on June 29 at 12:00 noon.
Organizers also announced a community live reading of the Declaration of Independence on Wednesday, July 8 at 6:00 p.m. at the Randolph Library. Mayor Forstenhausler and 12 other Randolph residents will read sections of the Declaration; the reading will be live streamed for those who cannot attend in person.
The town invited residents to the 50th annual Freedom Festival, presented in partnership with the Randolph Kiwanis organization. The three‑day festival runs Thursday, July 9 through Saturday, July 11, from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. each evening at County College of Morris, parking lot one. Organizers said the festival will feature live music, amusements, carnival games, food, fireworks and a beer garden.
Brundage Park Playhouse will host Americana Bandstand at Veterans Community Park, bringing 250 years of American music with multiple performances: two shows at 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 18, and three shows at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 19. Pre‑registration is $10 per person; on‑site tickets are $15.
Officials closed the announcement by inviting residents to join the town’s semiquincentennial celebrations and to look for additional event details from Randolph Township.
