Trustees direct staff on Golden View and district office refreshes; approve Harborview restroom and Star View portable contracts

For Golden View Elementary, staff presented three exterior refresh options that vary color, signage and landscaping (options described as gray/gold; beige/sage with composite wood accents and planters; and light yellow with larger signage). Trustees generally favored option two’s color palette while asking staff to preserve or borrow the larger signage approach shown in option three. Facilities staff will begin paint testing on a less conspicuous area of the building to verify how the exposed aggregate accepts paint and will return with branding and final recommendations.
On the district office exterior, the board favored option one (a clean shades‑of‑brown scheme with added succulents) and directed staff to test colors before committing to wider work. Trustees noted the project will be performed incrementally with building A prioritized, and that the boardroom and building labeling will be considered in branding follow‑ups.
Separately, the board accepted apparent bid results and voted to award contracts for Harborview restroom improvements and three portables at Star View Elementary; trustees asked about scope and confirmed portable work involves DSA (Division of State Architect) approvals and associated costs for plumbing and electrical. The motions to award contracts passed by roll call (4–0, one absence).
Next step: staff will test paint on back elevations, return with branding options and bring contract documents and scopes to the board or administrators for implementation.
