Chanceford Township Planning Commission Chairman John Shanbarger opened the March 18, 2025 meeting at 7:00 p.m. and confirmed a quorum. Commissioners approved the February 18, 2025 minutes after a motion by Commissioner Ralph Daugherty, seconded by Commissioner Ross Strack.
The commission tabled a subdivision application associated with Commissioner Ross Strack until York County provides comments; the minutes note the item was tabled but do not record a mover or seconder for the tabling. Commissioner Mark Bupp reviewed his own proposed subdivision on Gum Tree Road and said the plan is awaiting percolation (perk) and probe tests and comments from York County. Bupp also raised an issue about an existing driveway and said he would consult his attorney regarding whether an easement should be listed on the subdivision plan.
During the public-comment portion, Scott Kreiger, a public commenter, asked whether a variance would be required for a planned two-car garage at 2560 Arnold Road because of the property's front setback. The minutes record the question but do not provide a written determination or motion concerning the request.
Zoning Officer Jeff Koons reported that callers had asked about a Battle Hill Road lot that had been sold at a tax sale; Koons said the lot was an add-on that was never transferred and combined on the original subdivision and therefore is not a buildable lot under the existing subdivision record. Koons also said inquiries have been received about the St. James Church Picnic Grove property, which is for sale, and that residents have asked about the uses permitted on that parcel.
No other business was raised. Commissioner Marla Allen moved to adjourn at 8:05 p.m.; Ralph Daugherty seconded and the motion carried. The minutes were signed by Secretary Leah R. Geesey.
