The Fountain Inn City Council approved first and final reading of SP 2026-01 on June 11, authorizing a major change to the Fountainside Plan Development that incorporates an undeveloped parcel into the existing Levita phase-one apartment site.
According to Mr. Bell, the change permits two new apartment buildings on the combined site: a two-story building with six one-bedroom units and a three-story building with 12 two-bedroom units, together adding 18 units and providing 41 parking spaces accessed internally through the existing Levita development (no new Speedway Drive access). If built, the combined Levita community would total 50 units — a decrease of 10 units from originally approved uses for the combined parcels. Planning Commission unanimously recommended the modification and no speakers opposed it at the public hearing. Council approved the request on first and final reading.
Council members thanked planning staff for clarifying the background and context for the application before the vote.
