The Fountain Inn City Council voted June 11 to annex about 3.3 acres at 1587 Scuffletown Road (AXZ 2026-03) into the city limits and to zone the parcel RC (Residential Conservation) and assign it to Council Ward 4.
Administrator Mr. Bell told council the city is the applicant and intends to develop the parcel as a new fire station. He said the lands are currently split-zoned in Greenville County and that the Planning Commission unanimously recommended annexation and zoning at its April 16 meeting; no members of the public spoke in opposition during the hearing. Council approved the ordinance on second and final reading by voice vote.
Council members said approval will allow staff to proceed with permitting and planning steps to move the project toward a groundbreaking.
