The Hazle Township Planning Department handled several routine land‑use items March 17, recommending approval of one final subdivision, granting multiple 90‑day extension requests and accepting two new complete applications for county and township review.
On Ridgewood Sunburst Phase 1B, staff said Phase 1A is nearly complete and the Phase 1B plan will allow a connection to Father Angelo/Christine Road; the commission moved to recommend approval to the supervisors conditioned on completion and execution of all required agreements (motion by Terry Daley; second John Synoski). The roll call for that recommendation recorded Daley, Marchese and Synoski voting aye.
The commission also granted a 90‑day extension for the Hazleton Creek Proposed Industrial Center (applicant requested 120 days; the commission limited the grant to 90 days) and a 90‑day extension for the Amazon AVP1 off‑site yard preliminary/final land development; both motions carried with Daley and Synoski voting aye and Marchese recorded as not present. The Amazon submittal describes converting an unpaved lot into a striped truck yard for 348 stalls with lighting and an 8‑foot fence; staff noted NPDES technical deficiencies remain in the county record.
Hazleton Beltway Center Phase 2, a minor subdivision to split a large tract for two industrial buildings, was accepted as a complete application for review; applicant representative Nick Rutkowski said the request splits the parcel to accommodate a roughly 3 million‑square‑foot building and a roughly 700,000‑square‑foot building. The commission also reviewed routine correspondence from consulting engineers and county reviewers and confirmed that meeting minutes would be posted to the Township website.
The meeting adjourned at 6:24 p.m.
