Auburndale commissioners introduce new finance director, approve routine items and update bank signers

At the May 18 meeting City Manager Jeffrey Brown introduced Finance Director Stephen Zarycki, who began work May 11. Brown said staff have begun moving into the new Municipal Services Building and that he will be out for the rest of the week with Deputy City Manager Amy Palmer serving as acting city manager.
"We have begun moving into the new Municipal Services Building," City Manager Jeffrey Brown said.
The Commission approved the minutes from the May 4, 2026 meeting on a motion by Commissioner Sean Levy, seconded by Commissioner Crystal Tijerina, with all ayes. Mayor Alex Cam presented proclamations recognizing National Public Works Week and National Police Week; Public Works staff and Police Chief Terry Storie accepted the proclamations.
Staff recommended and the Commission approved updating authorized signers on all City of Auburndale banking accounts to include City Manager Jeffrey Brown and Finance Director Stephen Zarycki. Vice Mayor Jordan Helms moved to approve the updated signers; Commissioner Sean Levy seconded the motion, which passed with all ayes (4‑0). The meeting adjourned at 7:37 p.m.
