Greeley County assessor reports $5.6M commercial, $3M residential valuation increases; 2,776 notices planned

Assessor Gerri Behnk told the Greeley County Board on May 26 that reassessments across townships produced a $5.6 million increase in commercial property valuations and roughly $3 million in residential valuations.
Behnk said the assessor’s office reviewed the lowest eight townships, requested updated Farm Service Agency maps and used aerial pictometry to identify changes. She told the Board that approximately 2,776 change-of-value notices will be sent to property owners and that tentative dates in July were being discussed for Board of Equalization protest hearings.
Bryan Hill of Lake Mac Assessment LLC joined Behnk for the update. The Board did not take a separate vote on valuation methodology during the meeting; the actions recorded were informational and procedural follow-up will be required to process notices and handle protests.
