The Fitchburg Board of Health voted May 21 to approve its proposed Bodyworks Establishment and Practitioner regulations.
Director Stephen Curry told the board that no additional objections or comments had been received since the prior review and that no substantial changes had been made. Dr. John Bogdasarian moved to approve the regulations; Jamie Darcangelo seconded the motion and the board voted unanimously in favor.
The board directed staff to publish the regulations. Director Curry said they are expected to become effective June 15, 2026, pending completion of legal review and publication requirements.
The vote followed the board’s review of text updates that staff characterized as non-substantive since the previous circulation. No public commenters raised concerns during the portion of the meeting devoted to the regulations.
The board also handled other business at the May 21 meeting, including a tobacco-violation appeal for Royal Fuel Smoke Shop and the approval of meeting minutes. Remaining hearings were postponed and discussed for rescheduling on June 11, 2026.
