Lacey Environmental Commission elects Kerry Jennings chair and fills 2026 officer posts

At its Jan. 21 meeting the Lacey Township Environmental Commission completed its 2026 reorganization, electing Kerry Jennings as chair, Heather Scanlon as vice-chair, Kiefer Garafalo as corresponding secretary and appointing Ryan Horne as recording secretary; all motions carried.
The Township of Lacey Environmental Commission completed its annual reorganization on Jan. 21, electing Kerry Jennings as chairperson and installing officers for 2026.
Jennings was nominated and elected chair on a motion by Heather Scanlon, seconded by Kiefer Garafalo. Scanlon was nominated and elected vice-chair on a motion by Garafalo, seconded by Mayor Steven Kennis. Garafalo was elected corresponding secretary on a motion by Scanlon, seconded by Michael J. Dalton. Ryan Horne was appointed recording secretary on a motion by Garafalo, seconded by Scanlon. All motions were recorded as carried.
The Commission’s staggered member terms were set at the township reorganization on Jan. 1, 2026: Carol Mittelsdorf and Heather Scanlon’s terms expire at the end of 2026; Michael J. Dalton, Kerry Jennings and Mayor Steven Kennis’ terms expire at the end of 2027; Thomas Ball Jr. and Kiefer Garafalo’s terms run through the end of 2028.
Chairperson Jennings noted there are currently no alternate members; the Commission may have up to two alternates if community members submit resumes to the Township Committee.
The meeting was called to order at 6:31 p.m. and adjourned at 7:13 p.m. The next Environmental Commission meeting is scheduled for Feb. 18 at 6:30 p.m.
