The Twin Valley School District board on June 8 approved several vendor and program recommendations: membership in the Lehigh Valley Business Coalition of Health (LVBCH) to provide employee dental insurance, two change orders for elevator modernizations, and a protection services agreement with Security Care Inc. The board also moved a multi‑year Penn State dual‑enrollment agreement forward.
Dental insurance: The board recommended Twin Valley become a member of LVBCH effective July 1, 2026, to provide dental insurance through Coalition Administrative Services with United Concordia. Board members asked whether membership would change bargaining‑unit benefits; administrators said there would be no change to the association and staff would keep the same ID cards.
Capital and facilities work: Facilities staff recommended two change orders to Kancor LLC for elevator modernizations — $8,000 for Twin Valley Middle School and $8,500 for Honey Brook Elementary Center — and the board approved both items by roll call.
Security services: The district recommended and the board approved a protection services agreement with Security Care Inc. for the 2026–27 school year; members noted the vendor's visible presence at events such as graduation and described the services as effective.
Dual enrollment and data partners: The Instructional & Technology Committee presented a Penn State dual‑enrollment agreement covering academic years 2026–27 through 2030–31 and recommended board approval; the board moved it forward after clarifying student eligibility, transportation responsibilities and potential program costs. Separately, the board discussed replacing or updating a data/warehousing tool (referred to as LinkIt/Insight) and asked staff to share survey results and background before final action.
Next steps: Contracts and membership measures approved at the meeting will be completed per standard contracting processes; the administration said it will provide requested clarifications and documentation on costs and survey results when the items return for finalization.
