Klamath County commissioners approve bids, contracts, grants and a zoning change

The Klamath County Board of Commissioners on April 21 approved a series of routine contracts, grant agreements and a zoning change, voting unanimously on each item.
The board accepted a bid from Rocky Mountain Construction for the 2026 ACP construction and miscellaneous concrete work project after Jeremy Morris of Public Works presented the procurement. The board also approved agreements between Klamath County Public Health and Multnomah Education Service District (Agreement No. C04592), a noxious weed control agreement with the Klamath Soil and Water Conservation District, and the first amendment to the sanitary sewerage pump station maintenance agreement, each after staff presentations and unanimous motions.
Finance presented Klamath County Domestic Well Assistance grant agreements, which the board approved. The board also approved an HVAC inspection and maintenance agreement with HMS Commercial Service for county facilities; Commissioner DeGroot read the agreement information and moved approval.
On land use, the board adopted Ordinance 44.173 and Final Order CLUP/ZC 4-24, changing the zoning map designation for a 2.5-acre parcel from Exclusive Farm Use (EFU-CG) to Transportation Commercial (CT). Jeremy Morris (Planning) presented the ordinance; Commissioner Nichols moved and Commissioner DeGroot seconded, and the ordinance passed unanimously.
A lease for the Chiloquin Library branch with Chiloquin Vision In Progress (CVIP) was approved during a brief Library Service District meeting; the district was opened and closed within the session and the lease was signed.
All motions that recorded outcomes in the meeting were approved by unanimous vote. Items approved with recorded action during the meeting include: minutes from April 14, 2026; the Rocky Mountain Construction bid; agreements with Multnomah ESD and Klamath Soil and Water Conservation District; the sanitary sewerage pump station maintenance amendment; domestic well assistance grant agreements; the HMS HVAC agreement; Ordinance 44.173; the CVIP lease; and Order OR2026-049 updating Planning and Board of Commissioners fee schedules.
The meeting lasted roughly 33 minutes and adjourned at 1:33 p.m.
