During the meeting Tarentum Borough Council handled a package of routine administrative items and ordinance advertisements.
Council adopted Resolution 26-08 to reappoint members of the zoning hearing board; the motion passed unanimously. Resolution 26-09 to appoint members to the Code Appeals Hearing Board passed with one abstention (Susan Clark abstained).
The council voted to advertise several ordinances for public review: Ordinance 22-03 establishing rules and rates for the borough electric department, Ordinance 26-04 for water department rules and rates, Ordinance 26-05 amending parking limits and creating a 50-minute parking zone at 143 West 7th Avenue, and Ordinance 26-06 to formally adopt spray-park rules (no alcohol, no glass, adult supervision requirements and enforcement penalties). Council described the spray-park measure as codifying rules already posted on-site to provide enforcement authority.
All four ordinances were authorized for advertisement and most motions passed unanimously; Resolution 26-09 passed with one abstention. Council asked staff to proceed with standard notice and advertisement procedures and to bring any public comments back to council after required reviews.
