Commissioners approve $15,000 donation to Community Health Improvement Plan

The Tuscarawas County Board of Commissioners voted on April 15 to approve a $15,000 contribution to the Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP).
Commissioner Chris Abbuhl moved to remove the item from the table and then moved (with Commissioner Greg Ress seconding) passage of the resolution approving the donation to support the county’s collaborative CHIP work with Healthy Tusc. The resolution states the county’s contribution is permitted under law and authorizes the Board President to sign documents necessary to facilitate the contribution.
Commissioner Abbuhl said the work is important to the county and noted that local health departments and hospitals are required to complete a CHIP every three years; he added that the county has partnered on similar efforts in past years. The board approved the $15,000 contribution by a 3–0 roll-call vote.
Next step: the Board President is authorized to execute any additional documents required to complete the contribution.
