Commissioners approve $10,000 ARPA addendum to United Way for Imagination Library

At its April 17 meeting, the Tuscarawas County Board of Commissioners approved an addendum to the county’s American Rescue Plan Act grant to provide an additional $10,000 to the United Way of Tuscarawas County to support the Dolly Parton Imagination Library project locally.
Commissioner Chris Abbuhl moved for approval and Commissioner Greg Ress seconded; the motion passed unanimously. Commissioners praised the program’s benefit to young children. Commissioner Zemis noted the program aligns with statewide promotion through the Governor’s Office. The Board recorded the agreement as amendment to agreement #118, dated Jan. 23, 2023.
Next steps: United Way will apply the addendum funds to local program operations to expand or sustain book distribution for participating children.
