Committee approves bartender, retail and event alcohol permits, and sidewalk-cafe extensions

The Waukesha City Ordinance and Licensing Committee unanimously approved a set of licenses and event permit recommendations March 9, including an operator (bartender) license for Sarah Evans and multiple retail and sidewalk-café applications.

Chair explained there was one invited bartender applicant, Sarah Evans, and moved to approve her operator’s license based on her application and the length of time since prior matters on her record. The motion was seconded and passed without objection.

The committee then approved, in a single motion, several license applications: Discount Smokes and Spirits (Class A beer and liquor retail for The Story LLC), extension of premises for The Steaming Cup sidewalk café, and Toffty’s Table sidewalk café. Alderson Helensleben moved to approve the package; the motion carried unanimously.

On event permits, the committee considered AB105 applications for Raised Grain Brewing Company. For Tribute Tuesday events (June 9, July 14, Aug. 11 and Sept. 1, 5:30–9:30 p.m.), staff and counsel said the state issues the permits but municipal signoff is required; the clerk said she could authorize identical subsequent AB105 submissions if separate forms were required. Alderson Helensleben moved to approve the AB105s for the listed Tribute Tuesday dates or to authorize the clerk to sign identical follow-ups; the motion was seconded and passed unanimously.

The committee also approved an AB105 application for Raised Grain Brewing Company to sell beverages at the Guitar Town Music Festival on June 13 (noon–8 p.m.); the motion to approve was seconded and passed unanimously.

Clerk's office reported no additional communications and the meeting was adjourned at 06:21.

All approvals were recorded by the chair as unanimous; no public comments were received during the hearing.
