Selectmen approve overnight paving closures on Glenville Road

The Town of Greenwich Board of Selectmen voted unanimously to approve an overnight road closure on Glenville Road between Glen Ridge Road and Weaver Street from June 21 through June 25 to allow paving and related work.
The motion was made by Lauren Raven and seconded by Rachel Conn; all three members present voted yes. Town staff said the contractor, A&J, will stage equipment off the most residential streets to reduce noise and backup beeping.
Ian Brown of the Department of Public Works said the contractor will avoid staging in heavily residential areas and "we're going to try to have them stage on Pewick Road," to keep operations more out of residents' way. Officials said the overnight work will include paving and restriping and that the town will publicize detours and timing via neighborhood liaisons, community newsletters and social media.
The board recorded the vote as unanimous. Town officials did not specify fines, lane-by-lane schedule details, or alternate access plans for specific driveways beyond saying residents' driveways would not be blocked.
