The agreement envisions an average of five billable hours per week devoted chiefly to communicable‑disease investigations and outbreak management. One member noted the draft agreement includes a fee “not to exceed $16,002.98” for the period Sept. 1, 2025 through June 30, 2026, and asked how the board would handle circumstances where demand exceeded the assumed weekly average. The chair and staff said any substantial increase in workload would be governed by a subsequent letter of agreement and negotiating additional payment.
Board members asked whether Montgomery nurses could accommodate the added workload; staff said they had discussed capacity and that this arrangement had precedent with other townships. The board moved to approve the shared‑services agreement and completed a roll call; the motion passed.
The health officer said the board would forward the approved agreement to the township committee as appropriate and that the arrangement has been used in the past to generate revenue and expand services.
The board also approved a related memorandum of understanding for well‑baby/child‑health clinic services with Hillsborough as part of continuing collaboration.
