The Montgomery Township Board of Health unanimously adopted Salary Ordinance 2025‑01 on Aug. 13, approving a comprehensive salary and wage plan for the board’s listed non‑union positions.
During the second and final reading, the chair said the ordinance shows a 2.5% annual cost adjustment for affected positions, including the health officer, deputy health officer and the board’s public‑health nursing posts. The measure also documents a grant‑funded public health planner position at $41 an hour.
Board members asked for clarification about how the 2.5% adjustment interacts with the minimum and maximum ranges shown in the table, and the chair explained the adjustment is applied to each employee’s actual salary within the stated range. One member reiterated that the maximums are typically set by the township committee and then adopted by the board.
The ordinance applies only to nonunion employees, officials said. The chair moved to adopt the ordinance on its second reading and called for a roll‑call vote; the motion carried and the ordinance will be published as required by law.
The board did not change collective‑bargaining positions or set new maximums for union roles; members said the township committee determines maximum salary caps and the board implements adjustments within those bounds.
The board listed the adoption on the meeting record and will forward documentation for public notice.
