Rothschild approves part-time municipal court clerk to handle increased citations

Administrator Ryan VanDeWalle told the Village Board the Rothschild Area Municipal Court is processing more citations after the jurisdiction expanded with the new Mountain Bay Metro Police Department and that synchronization of citation systems has increased workload.
To maintain services Monday through Friday and handle a backlog plus new cases, VanDeWalle requested hiring a part-time clerk to work approximately 23 hours per week at $20.00 per hour, with similar fringe benefits. He said the position’s wages will be covered by revenues from the communities newly added to the municipal court.
Trustees voted on a motion by Bill Schremp, seconded by Dan Mortensen, to approve the hire; the motion passed 7-0. Staff will post the position and proceed with hiring and onboarding. The board recorded the motion in the minutes.
