At the open forum, Quinn Raider said the omission was inexcusable and demanded accountability: "The fact that you left out the railroad is completed competence. Every member on the board should be removed," Raider said. Commissioners did not take personnel action but agreed to continue the affected parcels so proper notice can be completed.
Nearby landowner Frank Johns raised separate concerns about County Road 72 — the unincorporated gravel access that serves properties west of the proposal — asking whether the town will assume responsibility for paving and maintenance as the project advances. Johns said he’d observed construction debris and stormwater management issues on the unpaved segments and urged annexation so the town could oversee repairs and enforcement.
Commissioners said they will work with staff and the applicant to address procedural and technical issues. They opened the hearing to capture public comment from the people who showed up but emphasized that formal action on the railroad-adjacent planning areas must wait until notices are properly completed.
