Woodbury County certifies June 2, 2026 primary results with 9,550 voters

Michelle Scaff, Woodbury County auditor and commissioner of elections, presented the county’s official canvas for the June 2, 2026 primary election and asked the board to receive the certification and sign the canvas pages required by the state.
Scaff reported nine provisional ballots were submitted after election day; election staff accepted seven and rejected two because the individual did not provide ID. Three ballots mailed after the 8 p.m. election‑day deadline were rejected. In total, five ballots were rejected. The county reported 9,550 total voters in the primary: 7,428 in‑person election‑day votes and 2,127 absentee ballots. Party breakdown recorded 5,539 Republican voters and 4,016 Democratic voters.
Scaff also listed county nominees to be transmitted to party officials (including Daniel A. Bittinger II for Board of Supervisors District 2; Tina M. Bertrand for County Treasurer; James D. Lumis and Benjamin J. Molford for county attorney nominations by party). She explained write‑in reporting rules and noted two write‑in tallies for a county supervisor seat that did not meet thresholds to be declared nominees.
The board moved and seconded receipt of the certification and the canvas for signatures and approved the action. Scaff also noted the primary budget outturn: budgeted $88,900, spent $74,300, leaving an estimated surplus of about $14,600.
